I want to know how to make my own community. I need to make a community but everyone should not be allowed.

here's how you go......

First click on MY NETWORK , then click on OWNED COMMUNITES link, here there are text boxes asking for community name and community username( which you want to give) fill these and click on create.

If you want that everybody should not join it you have two options: either make it a moderated community where people can only join after you approve them or else you can also make a private community where membership is only by invitation.

To do this follow these steps:

in the community profile click on  EDIT COMMUNITY DETAILS, here in the Membership Restriction choose either moderation or private depending upon your choice.

hey hammer please refer to my post above to learn how to make your community private.

In order to invite people, simple click on the community name to visit the community profile page and there click on the INVITE PEOPLE link. A page asking for the name or username( edutogether username) of the person you want to invite will appear. Fill in the details and there you go...........
